Rhododendron is native to Nepal but cultivated in many other parts of the world. The essential oil is made from the leaves and makes an excellent addition to shampoo and bath salts. It is a nasal decongestant and is relaxing. It is also a tonifier for the liver as well as the adrenal glands. It is very safe and blends especially well with sweet orange. In laboratory tests with cancer cell lines, rhododendron demonstrated significant inhibition on ovarian, cervix, and colon cancers. It also showed activity against Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecalis.
